Introduction to the manufacturer of the road roller oil pump: The high-pressure oil pump is a component specifically used in direct injection engines to increase system pressure and provide high-pressure fuel to the fuel rail assembly.
1、 Installation location
The high-pressure oil pump is generally driven by a 4-angle cam installed on the intake camshaft, with a lift of 2.5-4mm. The choice of lift for the high-pressure oil pump is very important and directly affects the pressure building time of the direct injection system during cold start. The lift needs to be designed comprehensively based on engine performance requirements, roller tappet life, driving cam profile, and manufacturing process. Generally, a lift of about 3.5mm can meet the usage requirements.
2、 Working principle
High pressure pumps provide better fuel economy as they supply fuel to the system on demand; It is entirely made of stainless steel and has a wide range of fuel applicability; It also has the advantages of light weight, small size, and zero evaporative emissions. The high-pressure pump adopts a single plunger pump design that integrates a regulator, flow control valve, and pressure relief valve. Its working principle is to achieve oil suction and discharge by driving the plunger of the high-pressure pump up and down through a cam. The ECU controls the flow rate of the high-pressure pump through the pressure sensor on the fuel rail and the flow control valve according to the set control program, thereby achieving closed-loop control of the pressure inside the high-pressure fuel rail. The function of a voltage regulator is to suppress pressure pulsation at the low pressure end and improve the stability of the system. The pressure relief valve will open when the pressure in the high-pressure fuel rail exceeds the safe limit, thereby protecting the system.
3、 Fault phenomenon and judgment method
The manufacturer of the road roller oil pump explains the symptoms of the malfunction: severe shaking, weak acceleration, unstable idle, difficult starting, and even stalling.
High pressure oil pump maintenance: For high-pressure oil pumps, because they are different from electronically driven gasoline pumps, high-pressure oil pumps are purely mechanically driven (driven by camshafts), and their faults include mechanical damage, blockage, oil leakage, etc.
4、 Safety precautions for high-pressure oil pump fault detection
It is prohibited to directly apply the working voltage of the power supply to the high-pressure oil pump, as this operation may cause the electromagnetic coil of the high-pressure oil pump to be burned. The high-pressure oil pump should be driven by a specific ECU.
